SPELLING
BEE
In
Spelling Bee competition consist of three rounds that all of the participants
should have to compete in. And these are rules of each round and the theme for
Spelling Bee is Environment. Participants should wear their school uniform when
compete in Spelling Bee.
1st round :
We will
give a written question in a random form, and the words which will be display
on the screen also in a random form. Time to solve each word is 30 seconds.
This round will be consist maximum of 100 participants.
2nd round
(pre-elimination) :
·
Native will going to read out
the words to be spell by participants. He will read it slowly and clearly
without change any meaning.

Participants listen to the
words carefuly and ask to repeat it if necessary.
·
When participants understand
about the words, then they have to spell and mention it again. They should mention it clearly
and loudly to the judges.
·
Judges whether the result of their spelling is correct or incorrect after the participants mentioned the words.
·
If their spelling is incorrect, judges will give the correct spell and then read it to the
participants.
3rd round (Final Round) :
Basically the rules are the same as the 2nd round.
The difference rule in the
final round, there is a Definitions, people who will read the definition of the
words in a question by participants.
SPEECH
PREFACE
Speech is an individual competition where the participants
deliver their speech according to the themes which given by the committee for
seven (7) minutes minimum and ten (10) minutes maximum. The aspects judged from
their appearance are the content, grammar, pronounciation, and their way of
presenting the speech.
PARTICIPANT
The participants of Speech E-Fest 2012 consist of 25
students from all over High School in Central Java and Yogyakarta
PURPOSE
Upgrading speaking abilities of participants to deliver
opinion about issue in front of public
COMPETITION SEQUENCE
Speech competition divided into two rounds, which is
Preliminary round and Final Round.
GENERAL RULES
- The participant in
speech E-fest 2012 must be a high school student.
- Each school participating
in this competition must be represented by maximum 2 students.
- Every participant
should already be re-registered before the competitions starts.
- Every participant
should be present punctually (at least 1 hour before the competition
starts). We don’t compromise with all of the lateness. The name of the
participant will only be announced 3 times and if the participant absent,
he/she will be disqualified.
- Every participant or
the representative has to attend the Technical Meeting (read
specific rules).
- The maximum duration of
each participant performance is 10 minutes. Disobedience the duration of the
performance will decrease the point. The participant should not make a mistake
when they performed because the duration will keep running, we do not compromise
to start all over again.
- The contents and
materials used in this competition originated from the committee.
- All participants
should respect and appreciate every judgment from the adjudicators.
SPECIFIC RULES
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to compete, an individual must :
- Enrolled in a High School by showing the
Student Identity Card at the time of registration.
- Have completed the registration fee.
- PRELIMINARY ROUND, the participant have
submitted 4 copies of speech text at the time of technical meeting.
- FINAL ROUND, the
participants have submitted 4 copies of speech text at the time of
re-registration.
A
participant must maintain eligibility at all round of this competition.
If at final round it is discovered that a participant was ineligible to
compete at preliminary round, the participant must be disqualified. Each
participant must be present to compete. Participation by audio and video tape
and teleconference is not permitted.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- The participant has
to wear formal apparel. The participant must not wear jeans and T-Shirt at
the time of performance.
- The participant has
to wear pantofel shoes
- The participant has
to keep his/her appearance neat and clean
SPEECH SUBJECT
Subject for PRELIMINARY ROUND shall be selected by the
participants according to the themes and sub-themes that have been determined
by the committee. Subject outside the themes and sub-themes are not permitted.

TIMING OF THE SPEECHES
- Speeches will be seven to ten minutes. A participant
will get minus point that will be add with total point achieved if the speech is
less than seven minutes or more than ten minutes 30 seconds.
- For FINAL ROUND, after the participant delivers
their speech (7 to 10 minutes), there will be 5 minutes additional time for
adjudicators to give their opinion, and the participant may answer the
questions by the adjudicators if any.
- Upon being introduced, the participant shall proceed
immediately to the speaking position. Timing will begin with the participant’s
first definite verbal or nonverbal communication with the audience. This
usually will be the first word uttered by the participant, but would include
any other communication such as sound effects, a staged act, etc.
- Timers shall provide warning signal flags to the
participants, which shall be clearly visible to the speakers but not obvious to
the audience.
• A green signal will be displayed at one minutes
• A yellow signal will be displayed at seven minutes
and displayed once again at nine minutes
• A red signal will be displayed at ten minutes and
remain on until the conclusion of the speech.

APPLICABILITY OF RULES
These rules apply to all participants of this speech competition.
These rules may not be supplanted or modified except by the authorized
committee. All participants are obligated to obey the rules
MEGAMIND
Megamind
will be played in three stage. Each stage have certain point that will be give
to each team.

Elimination round
Team
which have the highest point in stage before (elimination round) will pass to
next stage (semifinal round)

Semifinal round
In
semifinal round will played by six team that divide by two group and will
played in different room
In
semifinal round, still team that have the highest point will pass to final
round.

Final round
The
team that pass to final round is two winner team from each group in semifinal
round, and the best runner up from semifinal round.
And
team that have the highest point in final round will be the winner in Megamind
competition.

NEWSCASTING
GENERAL RULES
a.
Every participant in this
competition must be a high school student.
b.
Each school participating in
this competition must be represented by maximum 2 students.
c.
Every participant should already

PRELIMINARY ROUND

The materials for the
competition consist of two headlines. The news materials will be given by
committee at news casting technical meeting.
c.
All participant must draw the
performance number and the headline of news he/she will get for the materials
of the competition. The drawing process will be held at the end of news casting
technical meeting.

a.
Every participant suggested to
wear formal apparel, including Blazer and other formal suits because it will
affected to scoring point.
b.
Every participant are allowed to
wear school uniform.
c.
Every participant has to wear
shoes.
d.
Every participant must keep
his/her appearance neat and clean; this includes hair neatness
e.
A minimal use of cosmetics is
allowed for participants.
FINAL ROUND

The materials for the
competition consist of news and weather forecast. The main news and weather forecast materials will be given by
committee at news casting technical meeting.

All participant must draw the
performance number, the headline of news and map for weather forecast he/she
will get for the materials of the competition. The drawing process will be held
after the finalist are announced at the preliminary round.
e.
The drawing process must be
attended by all participant or their representative. Absence by the participant
means that the materials and the performance number of that participant depends
on the committee.

STORY TELLING
General
- English Festival Story Telling
Competition will be held in two rounds, preliminary round and final round.
- Preliminary round is the first
round where every registered participant competes to take place on the
final round.
- Final round is the last round
where only five participants with the highest score from preliminary round
compete to become the champion.
- Themes for preliminary round and
final round are as below:

round : “National
Icon of Change”
- Final
round : “Turning
Point of the Century”
- Every rule has to be followed.
Disqualification is necessary for any participant who violates the rule.
Competition’s Theme
1.
The theme for Preliminary round is
“National Icon of Change”.
2.
In the preliminary round, participants must
deliver a bigraphy based on a national figure who made or
is in progress to make a different in Indonesia (in politic, economic,
cultural, social or religion aspect).
3.
The theme for Final Round is “Turning Point of the Century”.
4.
In the final round, participants
must deliver a fact-based story of an incredibly
event that changed the whole world in this past century. It could be wars,
inventions or even natural disasters.
5.
Participants must submit both of
their stories (for Preliminary Round and Final Round)
6.
The deadline of story submission is at the Technical
Meeting.
7.
If participants are
short-listed for the final, they must submit their stories before the final
round begins (_______________).
How
to Participate
- Schools must submit the
following to the Committee: - The details of the participant, which includes: A. Identity of the school
represented [name and address] B. Identity of the
participant [name, age, address, student ID, term] – C. The hard copy of the story they
are going to perform at the preliminary round and final round.
- Each participating school
may send up to 2 (two) participants.
Rules
during the Competition
- Each participant must be present
at the competition venue 30 minutes before the competition begins.
- Each participant must stay at
the competition venue until the competition ends and must remain silent
when another participant is delivering his/her story, unless permitted by
the Committee.
- Every communication device must
be silenced or turned off at the competition venue, unless permitted by
the Committee.
- Recording devices are allowed within
the competition venue.
- Supporters must remain orderly
at all times. Supporters must not disturb any of the participant’s
performance. Supporters who violate any of these rules will be expelled
from the competition venue by the Committee.
- None of the participants is allowed to
read any story text or keynote when delivering the story.
- Participants may not invent a story
although they may improvise and tell the story in their own style.
- Participants are advised to use actions
and equipments (props or costumes), at their own expense, to help bring
their stories to life.
- Each participant will be called three
times in a row based on his/her turn to perform (first chance).
- Participants who don’t come up after
being called three times (first chance) will be put on the last turn
(second chance).
- Participants who don’t come on the second
chance will be disqualified.
- A green flag will be raised up by the
timekeeper as a sign for a participant to start delivering their story.
- Each participant has maximum time
of 10 minutes to deliver his/her story. Participant who delivers his/her
story less than 6 minutes will have his/her score reduced.
- A yellow flag will be raised up again on
the 4th, 6th, 9th minute.
- On the 10th minute, time keeper will
raise the red flag up as a warning for the participant that the time is
up.
- 15 seconds will be given as a tolerance
time right after the 10th minute.
- The tolerance time is considered for
score deduction. Thus every second past the tolerance time will reduce the
score.
- The score margin is between 0 - 100.
- Scoring criteria :

Vocabulary, etc) 15%
- Performance (Costume,
Intonation, etc) 35%
- Expression (including
body language) 10%
- Punctuality of time 5%
- The judges' decision is final and no correspondence
pertaining to the judging process will be entertained.
